Public lecture on current and future societal water demand I 25.01.2023

The „Frankfurt Geographical Society“ (Frankfurter Geographische Gesellschaft e.V.) is considered one of the oldest geographical associations worldwide. Every semester, a lecture series on current geographical research topics for students and the public is organized. The current series is about global resources like water or energy and put under the title: “Limited resources: Consumption-Use-Protection”.

Robert has been invited to prepare a lecture on water use for societal purposes. He will present some insights into his current research on water demand with a particular focus on the situation in Europe. Together with Linda, Robert is calculating models to estimate current and future water availability and societal water demand. In his lecture, Robert will not only address how drought and heat, but also socio-political dynamics such as the corona restrictions shape societal water demand.
